The EARL

Venue:

The EARL, aka The East Atlanta Restaurant and Lounge, is located in East Atlanta Village, just south of I-20, east, if not obvious, of downtown Atlanta.

First consideration: The EARL is 21+ at all times with no exceptions, including concerts.

The EARL is fronted by a typical bar/restaurant area with a central hallway leading to the venue in the rear. The room has a capacity of 300 with a raised stage area in one corner. A full bar is available within the concert area.

Shows are standing room only, and those attending can get right up the stage. The floor is flat, so the view depends on the size of the crowd and personal height as usual.

Given the 21+ entry, most should understand that drinks whether full or empty shouldn’t be placed on the stage or on the monitors… “should…”

The room has effective lighting for the space and a pretty decent sound system for the room.

Overall, it’s a cool place and neighborhood to see a show.

Parking:

Parking is available in an adjacent lot or on the street. For free!

Restaurants:

The EARL has straightforward options for typical bar food which can be previewed on their site – hamburgers, po-boys, etc. No disappointment in the quality.

For those wanting something else, Argosy is a winner as is EAV Thai and Sushi, both a short walk away.

Two breweries are a short walk as well, Sabbath Brewing and Hippin’ Hops Brewery.
