Bailen is a songwriting-forward, indie pop, folk-rock band that has captivated audiences withtheir musical dynamism and the three-part “blood harmony” of siblings Julia (guitar), Daniel(bass), and David (drums). The trio was raised by two freelanceclassical musicians in NewYork City who steeped them in Rock & Roll and Brahms. Their close familial bond is evident intheir tight-knit musical arrangements and rich, emotive harmonies.
The group has released two studio albums,Thrilled to Be Here(2019),produced by JohnCongelton,andTired Hearts(2023),produced by Brad Cook.Both albumsshowcase their knackfor crafting infectious melodies and introspective lyrics, earning them critical acclaim and adedicated fan base. Theirdebutalbum washailedby Rolling Stoneas an“impressive debut”,inwhich theywere compared to CSN, Fleetwood Mac, TLC, and Haim.Their catalog has over 50million streams, and theirsong “I Was Wrong” reached the top20 on Billboard’s AdultAlternative Chart. Additionally,NPR voted their song “Something Tells Me” #5 on the BestSongs of 2019. The band has made several TV appearances as featured artists, performing on theCBS Morning Show and The Today Show.They’vealso had the privilege of working with somany artists they admire, releasing collaborations with Amos Lee and Trousdale in 2024.
In addition to their studio work, BAILEN is renowned for their engaging live performances,which feature a blend of heartfelt ballads and high-energy anthems. With a history of touringwith the likes of Hozier, Amos Lee, The Lone Bellow,and many more, their stage presence andchemistry have made them a standout act at various music festivals and venues across thecountry.
Currently,BAILENis preparing to release their third full-length album, which they engineeredand produced themselves with collaborators Jake Sinclair (Panic! At The Disco), RiccardoDamian (Sampha), and Chris Tabron (The Strokes). They are excited to release this record fullyindependent.
