WREKtacular 26 featuring Lunar Vacation & others

WREK Atlanta 91.1 FM’s annual WREKTACULAR festival is a student-led event that showcases the best in local and underground music.

This year’s headliner, Lunar Vacation, is an Atlanta-based indie rock project. Since their formation in 2016, Lunar Vacation’s blend of vulnerable lyricism and vibrant instrumentation has struck a chord with indie fans on a global scale. The band holds a special place in the hearts of WREK members and listeners, as they played the station’s very own Live @ WREK back in 2018 (check it out!) As fresh as ever, Lunar Vacation represents the creme de la creme of Atlanta indie.

Shallowater is a Houston-based slowcore band. High off their recent album, God’s Gonna Give You a Million Dollars, Shallowater’s unique “dirtgaze” blends the edge of ‘90s shoegaze with the current, earthy wave of Americana and Alt-country.

Full Body 2 is a Philadelphia-based electronic four piece that weaves a thread between glitch pop, shoegaze, and drum & bass.

Joyer is an indie rock band from the East Coast. Composed of two brothers, Nick and Shane Sullivan, Joyer creates an introspective and singular contribution to the region’s ever-strong shoegaze revival. These acts are supported by shoegaze band Hubble, psychedelic noise rock band Strumbrush, indie rock band Siichaq, and electronic art pop artist Nico!. WREK favorites, these bands represent the up-and-coming in the local Atlanta scene.
